15.00 Ceremony in honour of sailors “For those who opened the sea to us” and presentation of the highest awards in maritime transport on the occasion of the Sea Festival. Organised by the Lithuanian Maritime Museum and SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority (in Smiltynė, near the monument “Albatrosas”)
12.00 – 20.00 Time machine journey to the Sea Festival Carnivals. Festive processions-carnivals are one of the most colourful highlights of the annual Sea Festival. For nine decades, the carnival has brought mermaids, the god Neptune, sausage-making machines, cauldrons of hell, daughters of the sun, mathematicians, and friendship between nations. Carnival masks and processions are a perfect reflection of historical times and values. Organised by the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor and the organisation “Klaipėdos šventės”, VšĮ, who are inviting you to travel back in time for three days of the Sea Festival.

MOVIE “ROWING ACROSS THE ATLANTIC”
One man, one ocean, a century of history…
The true story of Aurimas Valujavičius, the first Lithuanian to embark on one of the greatest challenges of his life – an 8,500 km journey across the Atlantic Ocean in the rowing boat Lituanica to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the flight of S. Darius and S. Girėnas across the Atlantic. To immerse ourselves in the loneliness and the euphoria, the pain and the joy, the anxiety and the hope that the Atlantic Ocean would be crossed from the European continent to the North America continent and that Miami would be reached in triumph. These are the only thoughts that have been running through Aurimas’ mind for several years, as he sets sail on the open ocean after more than two years of intense preparation for this historic and record-breaking journey.

It is a special combination of water, lights, fire, music, and human dance created especially for the anniversary of the Sea Festival. The history of the festival, the dialectic of our memories, experiences and interpretations are revealed through music, water and human choreography, and dialectal testimonies of the inhabitants of different regions of Lithuania, which echo the motto of the first and the current celebrations: “ All of Lithuania to the Sea!” The fountain show reflects the four eras of Lithuania, Klaipėda and the Sea Festival – the interwar period, the Soviet era, the revival, and independence. One of the most memorable highlights of the fountain show will be the dance compositions of the world vice-champion dance studio “Aušrinė” and an impressive 20-metre high lighthouse.

THE SEA WAVES DIFFERENTLY – MARITIME ACTIVITIES SQUARE
Youthful activities showcase maritime culture and a maritime activities square at the epicentre of the Sea Festival – Theatre Square. Alongside a maritime photo wall with a real ship’s wheel and the opportunity to become a sea captain for a few moments, there will be educational activities and performances under the ‘maritime’ code.

ARTYN Theatre has created Sirens using a variety of interconnected forms of art, from theatre to make-up, to create an alternative world, where, as in in art, everything is closely related.

12.00-20.00 Time machine journey to the Sea Festival Carnivals. Festive processions-carnivals are one of the most colourful highlights of the annual Sea Festival. For nine decades, the carnival has brought mermaids, the god Neptune, sausage-making machines, cauldrons of hell, daughters of the sun, mathematicians, and friendship between nations. Carnival masks and processions are a perfect reflection of historical times and values. Organised by the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor and the organisation “Klaipėdos šventės”, VšĮ, who are inviting you to travel back in time for three days of the Sea Festival.

It is a special combination of water, lights, fire, music, and human dance created especially for the anniversary of the Sea Festival. The history of the festival, the dialectic of our memories, experiences and interpretations are revealed through music, water and human choreography, and dialectal testimonies of the inhabitants of different regions of Lithuania, which echo the motto of the first and the current celebrations: “All of Lithuania to the Sea!”. The fountain show reflects the four eras of Lithuania, Klaipėda and the Sea Festival – the interwar period, the Soviet era, the revival, and independence. One of the most memorable highlights of the fountain show will be the dance compositions of the world vice-champion dance studio “Aušrinė” and an impressive 20-metre high lighthouse.

“Klaipėdos Šventės” VšĮ, presents this year’s anthem “Aš namie” (I am Home) and its music video. The aim of the song’s authors is to create a song that will be played at every Sea Festival for years to come. We ‘grow’ the city and the city ‘grows’ us. We, the citizens of Klaipėda, are the real sound makers of the city, the real stars.
